On this episode we welcome David to the table. He regales us with the tale of his car, and asks, “am I getting ripped off?” Ronny explains to everyone how a mechanic gets paid. We let you know what “lifetime” really means for your fluids and parts. Also, tune in to find out what the “bread and butter” is for mechanics. Don’t forget-–there are no expiration dates on cars.

The Thing About Cars was fortunate to have both Flip and Ben Lower at the table. Flip tells us about the car scene in Cuba. The “Cuban” cigar may be highly overrated. Ben watches the background of old television shows. And Mickey wants to know when Bollywood took over Magnum P.I.

Friends, all of us at The Thing About Cars are grateful for your interest in our modest podcast.  What started as a hobby podcast has turned into a fulfilling learning experience for all of us involved.  As we gain more listeners and subscribers, we know we have to improve the quality of our recordings and possibly also tweak the format of our show.

Top down and ready to go.

We are seeking funds to improve our recording gear.  Right now we use two Studio Project condenser microphones with a Zoom R-16 recording deck.  This gets the job done, but we think we can improve our recordings by switching to a series of Shure SM-58 microphones, and maybe improving on our recording gear.  To this end we invite your support of The Thing About Cars via Patreon.

If you aren’t familiar with Patreon, it’s an easy way for those interested in our podcast to contribute to our work.  A contribution as small as $1 per month is not small to us.  Every little bit helps us dedicate more time to creating better podcasts for you.  Would you consider becoming our first patron? If you’re not in the position to become a patron, no worries! Your friendship & support means the world to us and we’d be happy to hear any feedback (good or bad) you could share in regards to our efforts.

You can always contact us via our Facebook page with any feedback or questions.  As always, we welcome your car and driving questions, and look forward to joining you again in future episodes of The Thing About Cars.  Thank you.
